With the TransPocket 150 and TransPocket 180, welding technology specialist Fronius is launching a new generation of its tried-and-tested single-phase electrode welding system. The further development impresses with outstanding welding results and an increased range of functions. A digital resonance inverter also ensures perfect welding properties for a wide range of electrode types. Thanks to the innovative PFC (Power Factor Correction) technology, the devices are particularly energy-efficient.
The TransPocket 150 and 180 replace the tried-and-tested TransPocket 1500, while the TransPocket 180 is the first single-phase 180 A electrode welding unit to be available. The manual welding units are primarily designed for electrode welding and can process Rod electrodes with a diameter of up to 4.0 millimetres. In addition, the latest generation of devices is also suitable for TIG welding up to 220 A: The user has a new TMC connection and a torch with an up-down function, which allows the welding current to be adjusted via the torch. TIG welding is possible with the TransPocket in two- and four-cycle operation and as a pulse welding process.
High voltage reserves at every operating point enable a very stable arc. The PFC technology is also a real innovation: This automated power factor correction adjusts the current consumption of the power source to the sinusoidal mains voltage and reduces the machine's input current. This makes the appliance particularly energy-efficient and minimises disruptive feedback into the mains supply. Long mains supply cables are also possible.
