USING A MODIFIED PULSED ARC FOR EVEN BETTER WELDING RESULTS
With PMC, Fronius has modified the pulsed arc in such a way that you can achieve even
better results during pulse welding when combined with the powerful new TPS/i power
source platform. Newly developed and modified functions provide significantly more
control over the arc. As a result, during gas shielded arc welding of steel, aluminium
and chrome-nickel, there is hardly any spattering. Consistently good penetration is
guaranteed, there is less undercutting and you can weld quicker and more cost
effectively than ever before.
INTELLIGENT STABILIZERS FOR PENETRATION AND ARC LENGTH
Penetration stabilizer
An additional wire control keeps the current and penetration constant if the distance
between the welding torch and the component changes. The arc becomes significantly
more stable and the penetration is much more constant. On standard MIG/MAG devices
without a penetration stabilizer, the welding current, and thereby the welding power,
drops if the distance changes. If the penetration is insufficient, there may be a lack
of fusion. If the penetration is too great, the weld seam may drop through on thin
sheets, as the welding current increases.
Arc length stabilizer
The welding voltage can directly influence the arc length. The result is a short arc
with which short circuits occur, guaranteeing safe droplet transfer that is not
susceptible to interference. The rapid control keeps the short circuit duration to a
minimum and reduces the voltage. The arc length stabilizer keeps the arc constantly
short, ensuring the arc is stable. There is no need for the user to carry out manual
readjustment in the event of external interference. Considerable time savings can be
made here in terms of the number of jobs (programmed welding programs) needed for an
application, especially for robotic welding.
PMC is a modified pulsed arc in MIG/MAG welding. The contained and arc length stabilizers
guarantee both a higher weld quality and higher welding speeds weld seam quality and
higher welding speeds.

Welding Process PMC is only in combination with Pulse Welding Process
