Description
Rod electrodes coated with rutile for welding different types of steel and for build-up welding. Weld metal made of ferritic-austenitic chromium-nickel steel: scale resistant up to +1000°C.
DIN 8556: E 29 9 R 23, material no.: corresponds to 1.4337, AWS/ASME SFA-5.4: similar to ER 312 - 16, NF A 81 - 343: EZ 29.9 R 23, EN 1600: E 29 9 R 12.
Most important areas of application
Corrosion-resistant steels and cast steels, e.g. 1.4762 (X 10 CrAl 24)- 1.4085 (G-X 70 Cr 29): difficult-to-weld steels, e.g. construction steels of higher strength, manganese hard steels and pre-bonds with high-alloy steels; repairs and wear-resistant coatings.

Special notes
The favourable coefficient of thermal expansion due to the high content of delta ferrite in the weld metal reduces the residual stresses in black/white joints and increases the safety against hot cracks.
Re-drying
Generally not necessary. However, the cladding tolerates re-drying up to +350°C.
