Description
Rutile coated high performance electrode with 160 % output for joint welding of different types of steels as well as for weld cladding. Weld metal made of austenitic chromium-nickel-manganese steel for operating temperatures up to +300°C.
DIN 8556: E 18 8 Mn MPR 36 160, material no.: corresponds to 1.4370, AWS/ASME SFA-5.4: similar to E 307 - 16, NF A 81 - 343: EZ 18.8 Mn B 20, EN 1600: E18 8 Mn R 12.
Most important base materials
Various types of steel (black/white compounds), high carbon and difficult to weld steel, manganese hard steel e.g. X 120 Mn 12 (1.3401); buffer layers for hard surfacing.

Special notes
Highest operating temperature for black-white joints +300°C For prolonged annealing above +300°C or for operating temperatures above +3Ö0°C, nickel-based filler metals must be used. Weld metal solidifies during cold forming. Weld metal scale resistant up to +850°C.
Re-drying
Generally not necessary. However, the cladding tolerates re-drying up to +350°C.
