Special instructions Weld rod electrode at approx. 100°C intrinsic temperature. Preheat base material to 50 - 100°C depending on sheet thickness. Interpass temperature should not exceed 200°C. In order to influence the quenching and tempering properties of the base material as little as possible, avoid pendulum movement with the stick electrode and aim for an extraction length of at least 0.5 X length of the stick electrode. For other types of steel, e.g. 42 CrMo 4) Preheat according to the base material.
